Mid-Summer Beach Reading
Interesting things for work and for fun
Maybe it’s procrastination or maybe it’s summer, but I have been reading a lot lately. Maybe you will find these interesting, too:
What to do if AI is coming for your job: This gift article from Business Insider offers an executive coach’s 30-day plan.
Charting your post-corporate life: Some ideas from the folks at Kellogg Insights.
Glazed white sweet potatoes with chipotle crema: A Frontera recipe via the Chicago Sun-Times. Might be a good one to bookmark for Thanksgiving?
How to harness stress: According to Harvard Business Review.
Caitlin Mullen: If you like crime novels, Caitlin Mullen has two good ones, Please See Us from 2020 and Heather from this year. Those are both Bookshop.org affiliate links. I got my copies from the library, and you know how readable these books are? The library wait list moved fast because once you start one of these books, you will have a very hard time putting it down.
Walk-up songs: Okay, this isn’t reading, but rather, a conversation starter. During a lull at a recent ball game, my companions and I were discussing what our walk-up song. Pete Crow-Armstrong uses “Back to Chicago” by Djo. Carson Kelly has “Take Me Home Tonight” by Eddie Money. I opted for Taylor Swift’s “. . . Ready for It?”.
What would your song be? Please shae in the comments!

Happy Boy by The Beat Farmers (mostly because it would make people go “huh?!?”)
Learning to Fly. TP
