In Canada, authors receive an annual payment (Public Lending Right, or PLR) based on the number of copies of their books in Canadian libraries. For some of my books, these payments have totalled more than I made for those books in royalties! I have no idea whether other countries do the same, but it's another reason I love libraries.

No way! Library payments and health insurance? That doesn't happen in the US, but library sales count toward my sales, and they are a big chunk of it.
