LOL. I feel this in a variety of ways as massive music lover, recond buyer, and concert goer. However, apparently, I don't have as much integrity as you do as I stream music every day and I usually buy tix on (grrrr....) TicketMaster. I hope though, that by going out to support local, national, and international artists, my partner and I are doing our part to keep the music alive. 🤘
More power to you and your hubby! Life REALLY IS too short. Nothing proves that more than seeing those your age or younger leaving this world before you. I lost my little brother more than a decade ago, so I totally relate.
Music is your soul’s soundtrack, and you HAVE TO listen to it! We are musicaholics in my house and we don’t apologize for it!! Because again, our time here is limited, but our enjoyment is endless…..
Whenever I discover an artist at one of my workouts, I think--well, probably not undiscovered, but so what! I no longer have to have seen the artists at Metro to feel on board.
I love streaming because I can listen to everything. Was a golden age when 99% of the musicians were raking it in money? Most of the musicians I know struggle to make a consistent living making music.
Awesome, Annie! Was there a particular song from Faye that really drew you in, or was it more about the whole package?
If you're looking to explore even further, I’d recommend Lucy Dacus, Mk.gee, Japanese Breakfast, Cameron Winter, and of course, Sunset Rollercoaster. Some of these might already be on your radar, but certain names are worth repeating!

Oh, and also, I'm only peripherally aware of Faye Webster but, to me, she's giving Phoebe Bridgers. 🎼
You do what you can!
Love this! And love "pathetic aging hipster status!"

Great post! Believe it or not I have heard her on KEXP. I also like her music. Thanks for helping me feel a little bit hipster today.
I often joke that Patty & I are either the youngest or oldest at a concert.
I love the energy behind this. I listen to Radio Paradise to learn new music. I like the idea of being one of the oldest at a concert.
Great post, Annie! Definitely words to live by.
Kneecap is gonna be lit!
I know! I can't wait.
